Chester has been crowned the Most Beautiful City in the World - thanks to the 'Golden Ratio'- a mathematical method that dates back to Ancient Greece. The Golden Ratio essentially represents the best proportions to transfer to the brain, which in turn can make places and objects particularly pleasing to look at.
A recent study by Online Mortgage Advior, found that Chester is packed with spectacular, historic buildings that fit the 'golden ratio'. After applying the ratio to all the cities in the world, the city scored 83.7%, (ahead of Venice in second place, and London in third place), establishing it as the UK's most aesthetically pleasing city.
It's already firmly established as a tourist hotspot, thanks to its charming medieval buildings, fantastic food scene and popular attractions such as Chester Zoo.
